Ingredients:
- 1 cup rice
- 1/2 cup split yellow lentils (moong dal)
- Mixed vegetables (carrots, peas, cauliflower, beans)
- Spices: cumin seeds, cinnamon stick, cloves, green cardamom pods, turmeric powder, salt
- Ghee or oil
- Onion, garlic, ginger, green chili (optional)
- Water
- Fresh cilantro leaves (optional)
Instructions:
- Rinse rice and lentils, set aside.
- Sauté spices, onion, garlic, ginger, green chili.
- Add mixed vegetables, cook until soft.
- Stir in turmeric, salt, rice, and lentils.
- Add water, cook until done (2-3 whistles in pressure cooker or simmer in pot).
- Garnish with cilantro.
Serve hot with yogurt or pickle.
